Blackmail scandal: man pays 53,000 euros after contact via erotic platform

A man from Lower Austria was looking for non-committal pleasure on an erotic platform - but what began as a harmless adventure ended in an expensive nightmare. The man met a prostitute via the platform and visited her several times for paid sex in her apartment near Vienna. Little did he know that he had fallen into the clutches of a suspected criminal group, who relieved him of a total of 53,050 euros. The main suspect and two accomplices are now on trial in Wiener Neustadt, charged with aggravated fraud, money laundering and criminal association.

Sophisticated scam: from bail to abortion

The 20-year-old Hungarian woman, whom the man met via the platform, lived with a couple - a 30-year-old woman and her husband. After several meetings, the prostitute began to systematically put pressure on her client. The man was coerced into transferring money with ever new excuses, including alleged debts, a deposit or medical treatment. The culmination of the perfidious scam: the women claimed that the prostitute was pregnant by him and needed money for an abortion.

When the man became suspicious and refused to make any further payments, the situation escalated. The young woman threatened to contact his employer and accuse him of forcing her into sex work. Her accomplice supported the threat and even presented a prepared complaint to increase the pressure. In chats, partly in German and partly in Hungarian, the women demanded more and more payments. The accomplice's husband is also said to have threatened violence.

Confession and imminent prison sentence

The main suspect confessed in her interrogation and stated that she had used the extorted money for her drug addiction. Her two accomplices, a married couple with three children, deny the allegations. If convicted, all three face several years in prison. The trial, which began on October 20, 2025 in Wiener Neustadt, is being attended by star defence lawyer Roland Friis, who is representing the 20-year-old Hungarian woman. The presumption of innocence applies to all of them until a verdict is reached.
